Food Prices and On the Shelves Supply

I saw a woman cooking bobcat the other day on tv. Kinda weird but I'd eat it before a coyote. Also heard people eating mountain lion. I'd eat it before the first two.
Bear can be good. I wonder what wolf tastes like...
I make my own picked eggs. Sometimes I use beet juice.
I like beets ! I know they have to taste better than yote !
Here is another. An old Cajun told me you can take a pot, put in it what you got, and call it Gumbo. I always wondered if that was really true and tested it last year. I had a cookout, we had steak, pork steak, chicken, sausage, I can't remember what all. ate on it a couple of days then remembered the Cajun. I decided to see if he was truthful. Took all the leftover meat and used my recipe for Duck Gumbo. Made a big pot. Neither I, nor anyone else could tell the difference. I would wager you could use Bobcat, Coyote, Wolf, Brown Bear, or most anything else you could get a bullet in and it would still taste the same. I have heard some of the stuff they put in it and I believe them. They have been known to use Ibis, Nutria Rat, Yellowlegs, various hawks and owls, etc. Anyone who would like to know how to make it, PM me. BTW its really good with duck or goose.

Big Fox squirrels in yard, 1400fps air rifle that is stupid accurate, rabbits need thinning of herd, screw the yotes, let em eat cake. Doves at bird feeder. Geese flying over 20 yards up, Pond 1/4 mile with gills! We all have a buffet in backyard!😂

Seriously, are we headed to this?
If we are we won't be hungry LOL

This is where being able to hunt and garden is a wonderful thing. Also, i urge everyone, do as much business with small scale local meat farmers as you can. We get pretty much all our pork and beef from a local father son outfit here in Saskatchewan. It's better meat, their prices are actually competitive, and when push comes to shove we need guys like this around….at the end of the day Walmart and Costco don't give a 💩 about you. And big government and big companies are more or less in bed with each other.

Mt Lion taste like quail to me. Bobcat has a cat twang to it that turns into an aftertaste. It is mild, but there. Edible. Coyote is not good. As a rule predators in general do not taste as good as prey animals. Lion is an exception. Its a little slow so I gotta share a story you will get a kick out of, I'll keep it short. My youngest was in the 8th grade. I was frying Bobcat for dinner. She asked if I would fry a bag for her to take to school. I did. Next day I went to pick her up from school. She was not there. I parked and went inside, and was met by her Teacher. I asked "Where is kat?" She said she was in detention. I asked "for what?" She said for lying. I asked her what she lied about, and she said Kat was giving everyone deer steak and telling them it was Bobcat. I asked her if she ate any. She said "Of course. It was good too". I said "Lady have you ever eaten deer meat that was snow white?" Suddenly she got that look on her face we've all seen and made a break for the bathroom. When she returned, I told the to apologize to my child, and next time she brings food to share from my house, whatever she says it is, believe her.
That was awesome ! I hope she had a cat at home .

WYO300RUM, I've been thinking about your Coyote, wolf problem. I think I know a way to fix it you would like... hahah. Take the meat and soak it for a couple of weeks in a 50:50 mix of white vinegar and beet juice. Then dredge in flour and brown it. Put the meat on the smoker. deglaze the pan with wine and beet juice. Add a little sugar and cook it down to a thick sauce. Baste the meat often and keep it wet. Let it stay in the smoker until it gets tender. Might take a day or two. If you aren't getting a good smoke ring add an old tire to the fire. This should be very good and tender. The beet taste should cover up the coyote nicely.

😆 I'm not even going to try to eat a yote ! If I shoot a wolf I'll try it. Tell everyone it tastes awesome. Genuine pickled wolf. No it's not blood , it's beet juice. Yuppies and libs would vomit.

Great idea. Then I wouldn't need two dang freezers full of elk, deer, antelope , fish, goose, duck, pheasant, chucker, grouse and dove. No bull. Chicken , pork and beef in other. I give away a ton of game meat every year. I gave a whole whitetail doe to a buddy last Nov. Because I had no more room !
