This Home Depot worker speaks fluent redneck

Our whitetails where I hunt have very dark racks, sometimes almost mahogany dark. When I take the really dark ones to the taxidermist they always drool 😁
 
Have you seen the deer? I thought they were coyotes when I first saw some running. Rocky Mt buck with dark horns can look like elk.
Hopefully the whitetail that have moved into your area are the bigger strain, at our farm a three year old usually dresses at the 200 mark, 4+ tend to be 230-260 dressed. It used to not be this way, for the past 20 years they are getting bigger, 20 years ago a 200 dressed was very uncommon

We have a hybrid CA mule deer. Not big but way bigger than the deer North of Austin. Northern CA gets some big deer.
 
Worms are for fish, snails (Escargot) for zee French.....
And everything else in the pot is fer Cajuns.....🙂

Racoons, Mink, Skunks, possum, coyote, and everything else mentioned herein.
