More recurve questions. Gap shooting using longer arrows

Hi again,

My gap at 20 yards is a whopping 26". I have to hold 26" under my target. That's a little hard to estimate every time. I'm often aiming in the dirt.

I think longer arrows will compensate for this So I don't have to "hold under" as much. Agree? Much easier to hold under 8-12" if I can get my gap to this.
Thoughts?
