Will this be your first elk hunt ?
The last two years I went with friends on over-the-counter tags on 3rd season.
Well, project will start.
Totally not in the original plan, changed when @bsnyder traded a 6.5 blank (he sent already) for my Proof SS .224 blank. Then a friend offered to gift me Lapua brass and 156 Bergers if I were to build a 6.5PRC. With that offer how could I not do it..
So, off to the phone with Jasmine at JGS to find out what 6.5 PRC reamer they have in stock. On the shelf were 6 of the 6.5 PRC AW2. A week later the reamer and go showed up.
Another friend offered to sell me his extra AX folder for 400 bucks. Can't turn down that one either.
Now, it is all on me to finish the metal work..... once I get back from the CO 1st rifle season.

I'd go 300wm first with the military mk248 mod 1 chamber. It shoots the 200 class heavies extremely well.
Second I'd go 7rm just for the fact you want something to stand the rest of time.

Which AX folder? Pre-14??
Don't know, not familiar with the AX. Will have to ask him. He had it for his 300WM, then he wanted Lapua, got another chassis for it. Sold the 300WM barreled receiver.

That's the ultimate plan. I have chambered five 300WM with my A191 reamer.
