Western Wyo. is certainly good, but the elk herd in the Black Hills has really expanded and offers some very good opportunities on the National Forest.

I have seen pictures of Elk over there, but never out in the wild. Are you talking about southeast of sundance?

Black Hills National Forest. BHNF is split up a bit, both SE of Sundance and also north of Sundance. Probably the best elk hunting is on the private land in that area, including to the west over toward Aladdin.

Trails West Outfitters

Trails West Outfitters is owned by my cousin. They take some monster bulls every year in his Unit. He just posted the 2020 elk harvest photos on the Trails West website and Facebook page. He runs an excellent outfit, has experienced guides and high success. I was born WY and raised in Cody and have hunted that area. If you can accumulate enough points to draw a tag there, it will be an elk hunt of a lifetime.
