Worst Post Shot Powder Smell

I don't normally smell burnt powder after a shot & I consider myself to have a good sense of smell. I love the smell when you smell a freshly shot shotgun shell. I always said "If they could bottle that scent, I'd wear it as cologne."

I haven't smelled a freshly fired federal Paper in close to 40 years. But the old Monarch target loads from Federal were the best, Thanks for bringing back old memories

I have always loved the smell Hoppes #9, I always run some through for the last pass after I use copper solvent.

Probably the most technical LRH post ever.

I nominate Hodgdon/Hornady Superformance as probably the worst post shot powder smell I've ever used.

Superformance is awesome and I never noticed a smell with mine haha!

It's progressive burn rate and as such hard to define where it sits in the burn rate chart.

It also wouldn't surprise me if it's actually a triple base (third being nitroguanadine) but either way it's a different kind of animal.

I use it to make a hbn coated 120 grain Barnes tac tx orig designed for 300 blk do 4050 out of my .300 win mag! Nothing else will do that powder wise

For you the seasoning can be a hot tar/brake fluid/electrical fire blend haha.

Okay....but you haven't disclosed the test results....or is it that you refuse to disclose them and enter a plea of diminished capacity? ( all that being said...Ditto on the smell of gunpowder)
