Wolf kill pics.... Trophy Bull Elk.....

In light of the recent announcements of removing wolves from protected status...these are disturbing photos.

There needs to be a lot of SSS that would help a little. i was up at yellow stone Jackson hole two years ago we went on a snow mobile ride in the back country of Jackson and the wolves had been every where chasing the elk. they better be glad i don't live up there in the mountain country cause i would do a lot of SSS.

It's going to get where it dangerous to go out in the forest camping are any thing with out a rifle. we're are going start hearing of more reports of people being stalked or killed.

Jeff, I too have arrived at the SSS train of thought. Sad fact is, it ain't gonna help. It's way too late. It took over 90 years of using every imaginable form of killing them to rid the country the first time. And it was LEGAL. It is becoming obvious the re-introducton may have been a mistake, or maybe the non-management is to blame. Do you think the government will ever admit that? I bet not. Even after the last elk is gone. mtmuley

Your right but it won't hurt to thin out every one you can till some one does something about them. one dead is better than that one out making more!!! I just can't believe that they have not tried to bring them back in to Texas. I would say non management is to blame in a big part. there no different than any other animal mismanagement and they will get out of hand. i don't want every wolf killed out but they need to be kept at a healthy number. allowing hunting would be a great way to do this.

Shooting them on sight seems easy until you are actually out here, but I know there are guys that have done it. There are eyes everywhere, and if, by chance, someone sympathetic to wolves witnesses anything suspicious.... Killing one or two wolves, to me, is not worth the consequences if I get caught. A hunting season is about the only hope. If one had a tag in his pocket, a lot of wounded wolves COULD go unrecovered, couldn't they? mtmuley

Do you mean in light of the fact that they have recently been put back on protected status? That's what disturbs me  Removing them from protected status would make me a happy camper. gun)

As for the three S's... you guys are taking a big chance... and especially airing it on an internet chatroom which has lots of eyes.

I for one dont mind having wolves around as long as I can hunt them. Then again, I'm not a rancher. I believe wolves should be treated like coyotes outside the NP areas. It's amazing to me how much better survivalists coyotes are than wolves.

Anyway, the only real way to deal with this is to turn the political heat on and get rid of arbitrary, subjective, law making judges.

Look on youtube -a few women were just stalked and circled by wolves -lots of pets ,livestock stories/footage killed by wolves.
Oh yeah and there are some vids showing just how majestic -cool -mystical and playful to -enjoy.

There have been wolves killed in washington state -oregon -one killed by a car 1-2 yrs ago near pendelton ,oregon that was collared =from idaho -i think another one near there was trapped and brought back to idaho -thank goodness b/c there are a lot of roughien's [ruff- e -in] around there who might do them harm......FLY******R

A buddy of mine lost 30 sheep to 3 wolves a few weeks ago near Carey Idaho. I don't think the argument that they only kill when they need food to survive holds up with that kind of kill ratio. Those 3 have since been put down by the fish and game. Idaho tax dollars at work. After the wolves maybe they will work on the schools and roads.

You guys should not assume that the wolves killed it for the hell of it. How do you know that the wolves were not scared off by the loggers. They are very stealthy animals and the loggers may not have known how close they actually were to them. The wolves deserve your respect not your condemnation.
So called "sport reflex killing" is common, well recorded, well documented with this transplanted wolf in all the areas they occupy.
