Winchester 70 base

njwoodworker. My 220 Swift has made shots out to 500 with the scope elevation adjustments only, no need for a 20MOA mount. If your 22-250 is a 1-14 twist as is my 220 Swift it will be difficult stabilizing bullets out past 500 yards. The 55 Sierra Spitzer FB Varmint does a great job getting out there, most boat tail bullets of 55 grains and up only have marginal stability in the 1- 14 twist due to their length. The Berger 55 FB Target is another good choice and works really well in my rifle.
I am not the lead on this thread rickdavis81 is. I am just a noob with a m70 223 1/9 twist. I posted so he would know there are alternatives since my impression is his one piece is not inspiring confidence.

One other thing you might consider is the Burris Signature rings. They have ring inserts of difference thickness in .005, .010 and .020" instead of using a slanted base or your scope does not have enough elevation adjustment.

As I sated earlier, I had the Leupold (or Redfield ) One piece three screw hole base on my Weatherby 270 Mag. Installed on new Rifle in 1979. Shot at least 100 rounds prior to the first hunt. Hunted Colo, and Wyoming. Really never had any issues with rings , base or scope. Leupold 3.5 to 10 X . It was all just fine. Last year I changed to Leupold Steel Dual Dove Tail Rings and basses. I expect they will be just fine, too. Leupold 4.5 X to 14 X
