Win 70 Mag follower length for Magnum length

My dealings with the Pre64.com folks have always been great. Keep in mind any original pre 64 model 70 part is going to be pricey.
Has the mag follower changed over the years? I have 3 generations of M70 CRF post PF and the follower is the same

Yes, the newer models are different, more matching and sharper profiles, I like them.
I have 3 Portuguese built EW's and they have the tightest fitting followers of any model I've dealt with, including New Haven models I still own.

Cheers.

Looking for the length measurement of the follower in a Win Model 70 in .375 h&h, 7 STW, 300 Weatherby or .416 REM Mag. Better yet to find one! Hard to source one so I am planning to Tig some to the rear of my shorter one to better fit the mag box and prevent bind. It's for my 458 WM+.
Any help would be appreciated.
Is your Model 70 a push feed action or controlled round feed? I have found the push round design to be more sensitive in feeding reliability due to weakened spring follower tension.
My 1958 African and 1972 African M70's.

Here is what I did to mine. Sorry took me so long to get back to you. Also, in taking the spacer out of my magazine box, I had to shorten the bolt stop to allow the bolt to come farther back to pick up the shell. And it is a push feed. No longer a 300 mag but now a 30 Nosler. Fixed the excess head space problem. LOL!!! I should have did a better job on my welding and polishing but it works great.

You are correct about the bolt stop. I bought a 375 H&H one. that way if I want to return to original configuration I can. Ooos, it's not a bolt stop, but ejector

Brother, I have found the same issue. I have a push feed .375 Ouch&Ouch that has historically had 1st round feeding issues. It also had a two piece mag spring that originally appeared to be silver soldered together so it would accommodate the longer follower and mag box. I was finally able to get a latter version of the mag spring which was a single piece and after a few adjustments, it seems to resolve the problem. My original mag spring did break at the solder joint and I did manage to solder it back together but never trusted it after putting that much heat on it, although I did use heat sinks and a very small torch tip.
