Wife bought me a new Savage!!

My wife (and no yall can not have her ) View attachment 129468 bought me a new savage 10 sr le rifle in 6.5 creedmoor. Can't wait to put some rounds down the tube even if they are only break in rounds.
Fantastic, I am quite happy for you and your sweet wife. A few years ago my wife took me to the store and asked the lady to pull out the savage 338LM LE and to see if I liked it. One was ordered and we brought my new long gun home a couple weeks later, socialist california rules.
It broke in nicely, a bit of experimental reloads with a lot of data gathered and I would not feel in the least bit worried about any shot up to a half mile. I was taught by dad, one shot one kill, saves a lot of ammo and the animals die quickly without pain. I wounded an animal once, I needed to track it a mile or so, never again. It and the reloads work together so well the confidence and ability is there.
Take your time, don't rush and collect and the information you can with every shot. You will be pleased and overjoyed as your long gun shoots better and better. Take your honey and teach her how to shoot properly. Soon you'll be needing to get her one.

Must be nice.. my longterm gf left me after I spent 5k buying ownership in a duck camp..other than monthly bills... that would be it, no annual dues except splitting propane once a year vs 3500/ year lease.....little did she know she was getting a ring out of the deal next month on our vacation...
I think her friend told her afterwards but still no word

If she was only a girlfriend and she left you over you spending your money... It might have been a blessing in disguise.

Thanks for all the ELD match info and Basinman,
Thanks for the ELDx info, that is kinda what I am after is why use the match (designed for target) rather than the X (designed for hunting).
What kind of experience have you all had with the X's compared to the match.

Because other match bullets have a reliable, proven track record on game.

You can buy a few boxes of factory ammo and try that stuff first. Then you will have some brass to start your reloading with. 6.5 Creedmore is the new darling for things like precision rifle and some of the other shooting sports. It looks like you already decided to put a silver Leupold on it. That should do just fine until you decide whether or not you want something else.

Not trying to hijack your post TH 1000, just thought it would be useful info for us both.
All good flatbow. That's why I like this site cause the vast majority of us would be talking about this face to face. If your like me we can be deep in a conversation and from out of the blue my a.d.d. takes over, and its look at the kitty!!!
