I have heard this before. But you are talking a few inches at 1000 yards difference.If you shoot in the Northern Hemisphere the left hand twist will offset the drift to the right due to Coriolis somewhat.
I have a .30-06 Winchester Enfield w. 1:10" left hand twist. The difference in spin drift, besides direction of drift, is only 2"-3", depending on azimuth. Basically, 1mph of wind will push a bullet more than the effects of a left hand twist vs right hand twist. And since I don't have an indoor 1000 yard range, I can't do any actual testing for verification.
That being said, 97% of rifles use a right hand twist.
But it is cool to have a left hand twist WWII era enfield.
