I use .25-06 brass and fire-form to 6.5-06AI. Works great - even the fire-form loads are accurate. Pretty sure inexpensive Brass in one form or another (.25-06, .270 Win or .30-06) will be around for the rest of my lifetime. :)

As to accuracy, I've had hit rates as high as 80% shooting clay pigeons on the berm. Nothing about that worth mentioning at 100 yards but the range was 600. 130g Scirocco II @ 3161fps. Absolutely nothing I need in a big game hunting rig that that cartridge can't handle - antelope to elk.

The 6.5-06ai vs prc gig has been done. If you going long action it's a good choice. Little more umph then the 6.5-284 by about 100 FPS on a good day, usually close enough to make little difference. I do like the 6.5-06ai and the 280ai a lot. Good choices.

It is not as efficient of a cartridge tho so when comparing to the short action magnums, the efficiency game adds up. I haven't shot 130's through the PRC but I don't think it'd be an issue getting close to 3150 out my 22". I have no issue getting 3000-3050 with a 140.
