Evening friends! Just a curious moment here…..
Who makes: Hornady, Nosler, Federal, Sig….
I presume Lapua makes their own as well as Peterson…
How about R-P and Winchester?
Some light discussion for Thursday evening 😃

I was under the impression that at least Winchester, hornady, and federal all made their own brass.

Browning is just rebranded Winchester (there's browning brand ammo now)

Barnes ammo I beleive is the same as Remington brass.

Not a clue about some of the others

I was under the impression that Winchester Ammunition is still under the Olin Corpration. I don't think they sold it to FN-Herstal (Browning).

Lapua, adg, alpha and peterson are makers of brass.
i would think hornady, nosler, starline and norma are too.
from looking at and feeling it and how they package, Sig brass is starline.
Weatherby headstamped has 3 different makers, 1 of which is Norma
i have read that Eagle Eye is just renamed alpha .
unsure about Remington, winchester or federal

I think the important thing it to find the brass that works for you, and if you reload, holds up to multiple firings.
This question is posed every couple of years.
Lots of companies make brass for "competitors" and the same in return.
Federal used to make a lot of brass for Nosler, now I'm not so sure, because there's a lot of churn in the market place.
I buy LC, Lapua, Norma, PPU and Peterson.
I haven't had the chance to buy ADG, RWS or the one with a delta triangle on it, but I've reloaded those and they seem solid.
Everything else, I consider "plinking" brass.

I haven't heard of ppu previously.

Nosler brass has been made by Federal, Norma and now their own factory.
Norma make their own brand, as well as Weatherby and run brass for other companies, just as Lapua do.
Europe has many brands made by Nano, which is Lapua, so S&B, RWS and Hertenberger are all made to their own dimensions. Including Sako.
Winchester is outsourced, Olin do not make brass anymore, it is licensed.
R-P is still making Remington, but also Barnes.
Hornady makes their own.
Federal makes their own and fills shortfalls, but so do many brands now.
PPU is Serbian.
So ADG, Alpha, Starline and Peterson are all independents but make brass for others too, like Sherman brass.
Many companies have been swallowed up by larger ones and I don't think we'll ever know for sure who is who in the future.

Cheers.
