Im assuming the way you structured that post that you are doubting what I said. Check out the December edition of Shooting Times with the Grendel cartridge on the cover titled "The best cartridge the Army doesnt have."What and it will open your eyes if indeed you are doubting what I said. #1 More downrange punch #2 more extreme accuracy #3 more cqb impact. Its a cartridge that uses a modified 5.56 magazine in an AR 15 platform but has. 308 ballistics.
400 yard comparisons. Velocity for the 5.56 is 1799/energy is 553 6.5 Grendel is 1973/energy is 1063 and the. 308 1922/energy is 1436.
At 1000 the 5.56 isnt even worth mentioning but for arguments sake lets compare the Grendel to the. 308.
6.5 Grendel 1000 yards velocity 1248/energy is 426 drop is 37.18. The .308 velocity 1197/energy 557 drop is 39.41. Look ive got the. 308 and the Grendel and im telling you the Grendel is the way to go.
