So hear is the deal been looking at an ar 10 in 243. But found a steal on a 15. So question, what would be the closest thing to a 243 I could get barreled in an ar15 lower. Thanks

Hey thanks guys. I should mention it will be a shorter range 300 yards tops gun for hunting. Any thoughts on the 25wssm, I already have 110 accubonds for my weatherby what do you think?
The 25 wssm is the cousin to the 25.06 which is a very good choice however the 25 wssm is prone to misfeeding from magazine (especially AR's) and Olympic Arms is the only Manufacture of complete uppers. I also believe ammo choice is limited unless you do the reloads. Im not purposely ragging the 25 wssm because I to would like one but if 300 yards is your maximum distance you might want to consider the 6.8 spc. Ammos plentiful and its good out to 400 yards (The 6.5 Grendel is very similar but while the 6.8 spc shines inside 100 yards to 300 yards the Grendel excels out past 400 yards.) Bottomline is that everyone mentioned are good choices.gun)

If 300 is the max, I'd probably suggest the 6.8 as well.
However, there are a couple misleading points made here, and I'm sure it's simply due to misinformation or limited experience.
I've seen no users have issues with feeding when they were using a properly built or modified magazine and as with ALL magazine makers...occasionally, a lemon gets out.
Olympic Arms sells them, Mike from Dedicated Technologies makes his using GI mags with Magpul self leveling followers, Carl from Accuracy Systems makes his, and I also make them from P-Mags which (IMHO) is superior to all of them.
FACTORY Ammo choices may be limited, but for the intended purpose, the options available, are almost NEVER out of stock, and will handle the job just fine. Since the OP mentions having 110 Accubnds on hand, that suggests a reloader, and so there should be ZERO trouble finding a nice load to take game with.
The nice thing about choosing the 25WSSM, is that IF YOU CHOOSE TO...you can bang steel, punch paper and take game in excess of 800 with relative ease, as long as you're confident at those ranges.
I've taken my 243WSSM out to 1150 with relative ease and when my faster twist barrel shows up...I won't hesitate taking shots at coyotes at that range. Might be a bit far for big game, but predators wouldn't stand a chance.
NOW, as for a place to actually get one. You WERE limited to three options...all of which use parts supplied by Olympic.
Olympic Arms themselves and their factory uppers.
Mike at Dtec builds scary accurate uppers or rifles but they come with a serious wait time and a reasonable price.
Carl at Accuracy Systems also builds a scary accurate upper or rifle, but it's about the opposite. Much less of a weight, but a bit more expensive.
The last option is a bit new and I don't have ANY experience with them. It's JARD Inc who built a carrier and bolt of their own design and now offers 243 WSSM, 25 WSSM & proprietary Jard 7mm WSSM. May be worth doing some more research on those guys since they are pretty new to the game.
Ok how does this sound, I think ill settle on either 243-223 or 25-223. I would like some input on what you guys think. I want to hunt deer and pigs close range. So I would like a 25 cal but think the 110 is to long. Or the 95 grain 243. I wonder if I could just trim the case back a little further. I know ill loose fps but I think i could still stay above 2400 fps. What do u think
