What's your rifle lineup?

I shouldn't even think this but I been thinking about a 300 Norma.

Soninlaw went out west several weeks ago and shot one. He was impressed. 2000 yds is a long way to shoot. But why not. His teams are supposed to be switching over from 300 Wm.

I started my journey of thinning the herd a few years back. I've gone from thirty rifles down to three plus a 22lr bolt action. 6.5 Creedmoor Savage, 280AI Ruger 77 and my dads old Browning Abolt in 280 Rem. I'm quite happy with them all even though they pretty much duplicate each other. No need for a magnum as any one would handle everything up to moose. No aspirations to hunt the great bears or the big five.

I have a number of rifles that I will all ways keep. But the ones I use the most is, Savage mark 2 bv .22 LR, Ruger 7722 .22 hornet, Savage 114 .270 Win., and Montana Rifle Co. AVR .35 Whelen

Over the years I have carefully selected down to 5 rifles. 1- a Remington 541-T 22 cal. For target, small me and just plinking. 2- Ruger heavy 220 Swift. Varmits and it has taken 18 dear never lost one. 3- 264 win mag which has taken many deer, several elk, moose and a bear. 4- latest. 300 RUM Rem SPS I am building for heavy end and long range very good accuracy example .98" at 300 still working on this process and last a traditional black powder which has a special barrel .40 cal 372 grain lead cast bullet. Will group 1" at 100 yd 3 out of 5 Times, however, not every time but only when I am capable with vernier peep sight. This line up covers pretty much all the bases for me. Ok I want a 6.5 284 or creedmore. Target and long rang deer and similar game

I have too many to even think where do I start thinning!
Essentials:
17wsm
204 Ruger Varmit
22 Creedmoor (shooting 75-80gr hiBC)
6.5 (PRC, 284, 26 Nosler) long range
28 Nosler with 195 Berger EOL
300 RUM 8 twist for 210-245gr
338 (Lapua, AI, Rum)

Then non bolt
AR 15
AR 10 (6.5CR, 260, 308)
22RF 10-22

Try the Sierra 142MK. I guarantee it'll out shoot anything Hornady has to offer. Hornady has been trying to buy them out for over 20 years. They buy hundreds of thousands of Sierras jackets to make their bullets

I appreciate the recommendation; however, I do not reload... as an intelligent guy I determined being inpatient and reloading do not work well together. I have my rifles chambered for a specific round and I am shooting 1/4" MOA (aka one ragged hole) with ELDX 142 gr.

First, I assume my wife will never see this list. Second, last year I traded 9 long guns from my safe for 1 Christensen Titanium in .25-06, and a Swarovski Z8i.
Along with the new CA .25-06, and not including muzzle loaders, shotguns or handguns):
.22 Savage
.22 10/22
.22 Mag Savage
.17 HMR Savage
.204 Ruger M77
.223 Colt M4
.223 Rem 700
.243 Rem 600 customized
.270 Ruger M77
.257 Roberts Kimber
.257 Wby Mark 5
.280 Ack Imp CA
.26 Nosler CA
.7 mm RM Ruger 77
.338-06 ASq CA
Thanks for the opportunity to reminisce. Most of these will never be trimmed by me. Far too many memories wrapped up inside!

Hard to beat a ragged hole. My 30-06 shoots the cheap federal blue box fusions into a half inch, hard to justify reloading at that point.

Here's what I have. I want to add a custom .308 bolt gun and a .300 Blackout before my collection is "complete."

  1. Savage model 93GV .17HMR
  2. Ruger 10/22 Target .22LR
  3. Custom S&W AR15 .223
  4. Custom Remington 700 .260 Rem
  5. Rhino Arms AR10 .308
  6. Remington 700 ADL .30-06
  7. Custom Remington 700 .338 Lapua
  8. Glock 42 .380 ACP
  9. Remington 870 12 gauge

I have way more than I should:

HK 300 22 mag (one of my childhood favs)
AR 15 223 wylde
AR 6.5 grendel custom
6mm creedmoor custom

DEER/big game
6.5-284 custom
6.5 Creedmoor custom
