My goodness that sounds sexy! I just got my 257AI up and running this past summer.

Very interested in 284win and it's dirivatives especially the 6.5-284

I have 2 in the works right now

1. 6 mm br on a defiance action with 28" medium palma 8 twist in a manners T4a mini chassis

2. 6XC on trued Remington 700 SA with a 26" proof competition contour 7.5 twist in a MPA competition chassis
What is better? (Assuming all fast twist)

I have two going right now too. Axisworks are my magic makers.

6.5SS
Defiance AnTi X Cerakote in Coyote Brown
26" 1:7.5" Bartlein CF 5R Rem Varmint
TBAC CB (for suppressor use)
Manners EH1 w. ultralight cheek piece
Hawkins Hunter DBM w. Accurate WSM mags
Bix N Andy Tac Sport Pro
ARC M10 Low rings
Tangent Theta TT315M Gen 2XR

Lightweight deer/pronghorn (maybe even elk) rifle. Planning on running the 156, and maybe a screaming fast 129AH/129 NABLR too (for pronghorn).

7SS
Defiance AnTi X full Nitride
24" 1:8.4" Proof Sendero 5R
TBAC CB (for suppressor use)
Manners PRS2 w. Gen 2 mini chassis
Accurate WSM mags
Bix N Andy Tac Sport Pro
Seekins 6/4 Low rings
Premier Heritage 5-25x56 Gen 2XR

More of a fun gun, but will definitely be a legitimate deer/elk rifle. I have 2k 184 F Open Hyb for it. Sure hope it likes them.

Cant go wrong with 284 or any dirivatives but get the right twist better faster than slower I learned the hard way

I'm definitely contemplating a shorty build, bolt action pistol (may go SBR depending on the configuration). I've been inspired by the Gunwerks BlastR they made last year. Looks incredibly fun and something different. We have plenty of coyotes around our WY ranch and packing a shorty in the truck/ranger would be nice!

- Bighorn Origin or TL3
- 12.5" 6 Creed
- Triggertech Special Flat blade
- JTAC Screech Owl 700 Chassis
- Leupold Mark 5 3.6-18

I'll play!

Savage 110 with flat rear receiver.
7mm Rem Mag Shilen blued heavy sporter barrel with 1:9 twist
B&C Medalist stock with full length aluminum bedding
Timney trigger
Vortex Razor HD LHT scope

I was given a 2-4 month lead time on the barrel since I wanted it blued, so that's the long pole in the tent right now. (The guy I bought it from said he had received exact spec barrels except in stainless earlier that morning... man I was tempted!)

I'm going elk hunting this year with my cousin and some of his coworkers.

Lots of good builds in here!

I don't think that there is a better just different and depending on your requirements one may be better suited to meet your needs.
I chose the XC because I don't need factory ammo, don't care to fireform, don't like trimming brass and dont need to push a 107 much over 3000 FPS. There is a good selection of factory brass and want decent barrel life. Plus I already own some of the other calibers.

I've had my eye on the xc ever since I heard the developer of the round explain it and how it was also made to work well in magazines for prs
