Next rifle build

I have 3. 2 SS and 1 carbon. Very happy so far. Proof has been hard to work with the past year or 2 so having an option really helps. Right now, if I needed a new barrel, it'd be a xcaliber. I am barrel heavy at the moment but considering a new 6mm like a BR or BRA for comp for next year. I could just run my 223 barrel with 88's though. That thing is super fun to shoot for training and wind calls are similar to 6 and 6.5 with that 88.
Are they shouldered or barrel nut?

Just over $2800 @ about $3000, but here is my list:

Kelbly Atlas Tac (smoothest actions I own, and I own quite a few different actions) $950-1000
20" Proof CF Sendero $700
Manners EH1 w. or w/o. Ultralight cheek piece $650-750
TriggerTech Diamond $260
Hawkins M5 Oberndorf BDL bottom metal or M5 DBM $220
Wyatt's box $45

🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 I love this build

Nut. I have done a couple shouldered for friends on the bighorn action. Spec was good. If I could get a shoulder with short chamber I'd use my reamer and finish it out to my headspace spec. I like 1.5 thou. With a shoulder the swap would be super fast and precise. I have a process that works for me to get headspace dialed in fast tho so I don't get too concerned about any of it.

I have loved and hated the old 308 Winchester but i keep coming back to it. It is a very well balanced cartridge and great for killing stuff within reasonable distances. Here's what my parts list would look like.
1. Action Tikka t3 action (buy the rifle for $700ish and sell the barrel and stock)
2. Trigger spring $10
3. Mesa Altitude stock $675
4. Carbon Six Tikka shouldered prefit $775
5. Picatinny rail $50
Total $2,210

You're inspiring me l, I might go this route

rem 700 short action, cause it ain't broke.
3.1" Baney box from wyatts.
lilja #3 fluted barrel, cause carbon is for arrows.
mcmillan game scout edge fill
choose a bottom metal
TT or timney
send it to CCR Refinishing for cera-hide instead of cerakote.

BTW- that rifle is 8 lb 14 oz with the can. Without the can it's 8 lb 4oz. In case you were wondering. Around here a lighter rifle is desired. I've packed 14-16 lb rifles and this is makes my old body much happier.
Yeah I have a couple of really light rifles. This one I would like to be under 9.5 with my can on it. 8lb 14oz would be perfect

I've had nothing buy great luck from APR both in customer service and how they shoot. All have been .5moa or better to 600 yards.

The Maverick fits your budget with room for upgrades like a trigger, brake or suppressor mount.

Below is my 30 nosler which is essentially what turned into the Maverick line.

Below is a 1.75 inch group at 600 yards. No warm up or checking zero at 100. Just dial and shoot 3.
