What's the best value in a 700 clone action?

All comes down to why you want but once you get a good custom action and barrel going to a factory 700 will be less exciting. If you get a custom action get one that takes prefit barrels.

I'm in full agreeance about the Bighorn, as a pile of people have mentioned already.

HOWEVER, if you truly want Remington pattern barrel threads, this might not be an option since they take Savage threads for barrels.


Personally that's what I prefer anyways. Plus there are piles of shouldered prefits out there from various manufacturers. So unless you specifically have shoulder-less Remington pattern prefit barrels you want to reuse, it won't be a detractor.
