What system ?

I like a low profile rail on a hunting rifle.
If the stock forend is flat and wide, I like to use a full length rail. That gives more adjustability than just a little 2" or 4" rail right in front of the mag well. If you go with a smaller rail, think about where you want to mount it. The most common place is near the balance point of the rifle. The rail usually ends up right in front of the bottom metal. For offhand shooting, that also is a good place for your hand to be. If your stocks has a rounded forend, the rail may stick out quite a ways on the sides and make it uncomfortable to grip off hand.
