If you want HOT ROUNDS, build something on the RUM case, either the 338RUM with its shorter stature to load long.
I have one in the works currently, haven't decided on calibre yet, tossing up 6.5mm, 7mm, 30 or 35. Looked at the 358STA to base a wildcat on, but the RUM just gets that little bit more ooomph.
If you want REALLY HOT, go 416 Rigby Improved, starting at 30 cal with 40° shoulder, or 45° shoulder, you can go 338, 358, 375, 408 or even 450. As calibre goes up, you can increase shoulder angle to keep powder burning inside the case, I have experimented beyond 45° with 375 calibre, but it works best, on paper at least, as you get into 408 and above.
You can get close with the NMI, but it lacks capacity to match the full size Rigby Improved case, and you need a much larger action, mine are on either CZ 550 Safari Magnums, modified to accept 4"+ long cartridges as single shots, or repeater Granite Mountain Magnum actions.
Cheers.
