I don't know how many foot pounds but my Sako AV in 300 win mag is almost miserable to shoot, worse then my 45-70 , 375 H&H, and a lot worse then 338 lapua. Although the lapua does have a brake

Consider yourself lucky you have it. On Guns International the AV 300 wm or most any Av are pricey.

Recoil doesn't bother me too much, have shot some nasty recoiling rifles that were non-magnums and shot some magnums that were a real pleasure to shoot. But as some have posted, as I get older, I'm looking for less recoil.

I have a .50 Beowulf SBR and with the 400 gr bullet, sitting on a bench is not much fun. Standing can shoot all day. Shooting position determines how much recoil I am willing to deal with.
