What is an 22 243

The 87 V-Max in 6mm has a BC of .400 and the 95 VLD is .529. Any 6mm worth it's salt (read 6mm Rem. here) will shoot either of those bullets faster than a .22-243 will shoot an 80 grainer. It'll hit harder and doesn't require any fooling around with brass. It's also a legal deer/pronghorn rifle in any state... the .22s are not. I shot a .22-250 and Swift for years... but I'm a firm believer that the 6mm's have the .22 centerfires covered in spades... with the single exception of volume varmint shooting. ~JT

i shoot a 22-243 with 80 gr bergers @ 3500fps, chrony @ 100yrds gives a bc of .610 i have a 243 that i shoot 95gr bergers out of and in my opinion it kicks the crap out of it. it does twice the damage of the 243 on game and metal plates.

why the 14 twist ???? 8 is so much better for heavy pills...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
When you know, you know....

No insult meant, just being funny.

He's not interested in heavies.
He wants the speed.
Like lightning; fast, flat, and strikes 'em to the ground.

Lrdsdmn,

No disrespect meant by me either, but this is a fourteen year old thread that you ran across.

I'm sure they have it figured out by now. ;)

my 250/3000
carbine 250-3000 xtra sm.jpg

Not at all a 22/243 but all I need with this little break-action

thats pretty impressive, i have a tikka .22 creed pushing a 77tmk at 3550, 6 cm brass necked down in one pass to 22, load and go. not pushing them hard as i shoot it alot and barrels take time to change over here!
