Love my 338 MEGA.Can I resurrect this thread to see is if any of you have some results from your shorty 338 Mega's? Inquiring minds want to know. Well at least mine does.
Nice! What can are you running on the 338 Mega? I've been looking at the Rugged Alaskan 360Ti.Top is the 338 MEGA
Bottom is my 270 SS
I picked up a Sico Hybrid 46 from a LGS a couple years ago. It was their range demo and I got it for less than $300. Sent it in to Sico and they re-cored it for free!Nice! What can are you running on the 338 Mega? I've been looking at the Rugged Alaskan 360Ti.

Very true on the sound. It isn't quiet but definitely better than without!I am using a standard Rugged Alaskan on mine.
It is still less than 10oz when used DT. No need for the extra money on the Ti version, IMHO.
Just be warned, a 21" 338 Mega is still pretty loud with the Alaskan, but it isn't obnoxious at all.
I shot my WY Mulie this year with my 280AI that's braked and my ears are still ringing. I was wearing Axil's every day for three weeks and the one time I didn't have them on, this happened. Ugh, my ears are still ringing. Of course going to SD shortly after to shoot pheasant probably didn't help. The ear protection starts to bother my ears after awhile.Very true on the sound. I was the same way about 8 years ago after an elk hunt. Next day went and bought a suppressor and never looked back.I shot my WY Mulie this year with my 280AI that's braked and my ears are still ringing.
