To me if the picture is a good picture with or without the gun doesn't matter. While I do like my eye candy, gun porn or whatever you decide to call it. As far as Zeiss's letter that is BS, have you ever seen the winner of the Superbowl celebrating their victory without a football or jerseys

I do not see anything wrong with the firearm or weapon used taken in a photo of the hunter and the animal harvested. I have taken several pics of the animal I have harvested with just the rifle or weapon used laid against the animals body when hunting by myself which I usually do. If someone or company is offended by seeing a firearm in a photo with a dead animal then they are on the wrong forum.

Are we trying to convince someone the animal died of natural causes, and we just found it there? I take lousy pictures, but the gun has never been an issue.

I saw the original post, and couldn't think of anything to say that wasn't inflammatory, deragatory, or otherwise helpful.

I always thought that a .30 caliber entrance wound was a natural cause.

I think the weapon in the pic establishes the order of events. Typically without the weapon the harvest wouldn't happen. It's not like you walked up and found the game laying there. Are you supposed to change clothes before the pic as well?

Zeiss also feels weapons should be minimized or left out of photos containing their products.

That's not very good advertising on their part
