VV powder loads for 7RM

Looking for Vihtavouri powder loads for 160 AccuBond in 7RM. I have 560, 565 and 570. I shoot the 565 in my 7SS with good result and the 570 in my 28N same.
The V V site has very little load info on this caliber. Only one 150 grain bullet load.

If you have a smart phone, they have an app with more load data (not a lot, but more).

The 160 class has a couple of 160gr loads w/ 560.

• Lapua Naturalis 160gr: 56.6gr-62.2gr, 2766-3094fps
• Speer Grand Slam 160gr: 60.3gr-68.7gr, 2700-3035fps

The second one is probably a better starting point. The Naturalis is a funky looking all copper bullet.

N565 data for 195gr projectile.
No N570 data

If it was me I would go with
N-560 more flexible with loads.
N-570 will give you a little more speed but to me not worth the hassle of compressed loads.
N-565 will give you same speed as 560 but with more powder.
N-560 Max around 68grs.
Work up to it please .

Cool. Thanks all. That is kinda what I was thinking but wanted to get more input. Will certainly work up from lighter loads on all loads.
I may try 565 also just because I have a good amount of it already.

I just tried N565 in a Tikka 7RM with 162 eld-x, velocity was approaching 3070 with what appeared to be near max loads (by examination of brass, bolt lift, primers, etc.). I can share what I have when I check data later after work.

For whatever the reason this rifle seems to shoot better with the 160 class bullets with slower velocities. I settled on a fairly mild load of Reloder 23 and 215 primers. Shoots in the 1/3-1/2 MOA range at 2880 fps with a 162 ELD-X. It is amazing more pleasant to shoot with noticeably less recoil and gas blowback at a few grains below max.

565 will give better temp stability, than 560.
568/570 seem more at home with heaviest for caliber bullets in my experience.
You have good options.

I was working up a new load for my daughters rifle. It has a stock tikka 24" barrel with a 4 port TI Pro brake. I was amazed how much smoke and gasses came back into my face from the brake as I approached max loads with the N565. I use brakes on all of my bolt rifles and have never really experienced or have noticed it enough to bother me with other rifles of larger caliber. Knowing that this is my daughter's hunting rifle, I have toned everything back down away from max and it is now noticeably much easier and more enjoyable to shoot overall.

IME, most 7 RM have a slow-ish twist rate and yield best accuracy at the low/mid weight for class bullets. 168 VLDs are about max in R700 Sendero, etc.

QL data for each powder attached. Start low and proceed at your own risk. I ran each powder up to just below max pressure using QL presets. I assumed a 24" barrel.

N565 and N570 give you more speed, but the loads will be compressed. As for temp sensitivity, I'm not seeing a lot of variation between these three powders. QL uses 70 degrees as a preset. When I up the temp up to 90, the pressure increases on max pressure loads are surprisingly similar (N560-2,424 psi, N565-2,548 psi and N570-2,868 psi).

I think N560 is your huckleberry.

Agreed. The Tikka 7RM stock barrel and mag combo is pretty old school, like most of their offerings. I understand - it's an old school cartridge I guess.

A 162 eldx sits a long ways from the lands at mag length with a 1:9 twist. With the limited options given, it shoots well, but running heavier high-BC bullets is not really possible without modifications.
