I think that change is good and it will be better in the long run.

I agree with you! I rarely range with reticle and mainly use it for wind hold or quick shots when the opportunity presents itself, and that is non-determinant on magnification power in a FFP. It just makes things a little simpler, IMHO, but each to their own.

This matches what I had heard. I'm currently having this same debate right now and an expert guy who thinks that vortex is comparable to nightforce and had like eight of um told me avoid the ffp at all costs but that's probably because he shoots very long range
