Upgrading wifes scope

I'm looking to upgrade my wife's scope, she has a Kimber 308 84M With a Burris 3 x 9 ballistic Plex I'd like to stay under 1000 bucks and get to 1000 yards any ideas?
By now, you should know who in the LRH community is supporting your quest. Looking forward to your decision on the scope.

My Kimber 84L Hunter is a .30-06 rechambered to .30 Gibbs. I think I am going to develop a load so my wife can reach out to 2KY just to "pizz" peeps off. L😇L!

I calculated a 100 yard zero so that I can use my mil reticle for a 1k shot lol. Looks like around +18 inches @ 100 yds. This might turn into a 1000 yard milk jug challenge!

One thing to keep in mind with the Leupold scopes like the VX-3HD and VX5-HD with the CDS ZL turrets, they only allow one rotation with the ZL feature, which is 14.5 MOA (stops you .5 MOA from full rev) and will be unlikely to get you to 1000 yards for dial up, likely closer to the 500-700 yard range depending on air density, bullet selection, and zero range.

I believe you can take the zero lock button out and get all the adjustment left available on the scope, though I haven't tried it myself on the Leupolds I have used. Would be somewhat of an inconvenience, especially if you were doing it often. To step up to the ZL2 or ZL3 turrets you are spending a good bit more $$$.

Some good responses! I've used a Vortex Strike Eagle on my .308 and my 6.5 Creedmoor and was able to go out to 1200 yards. It's the 5-25x56 FFP. I think it's a very good value!

I didn't know that. Good catch Cody. Maybe this version of the VX5. I saw some Steiner Predators that looked neat too.

So let me get this straight, You were the first to suggest a bigger tube( Op never asked if he needed a bigger tube) Out of context and how may SEAL's do you know?

The 308 was designed to give 30-06 performance in a short action so it is in context as they are for the most part they are ballistic twins

Come to Indiana, No flagged shooting range here, you set the gong wherever you want it ( 1000 yards or further, you pick it), No rangefinders, no ballistic apps, no Kestrels, No spotters and no wind flags, you do your own ranging and call your own wind and lets see who's on target first. I'll be using a straight 10X SWFA scope so when its over you can tell everyone here to be rest assured that a10X is quite adequate. Indianapolis is the nearest airport, I can pick you up there

Actually a SWFA HD 5-20 would be a great fit for a .308. A little heavy but good glass, easy reticle- totally adequate. I have one I picked up for cheap and have it on my 6.5 and it works fine.
