Unusual Wildlife Pictures

From 2005, read about my Great Gray Owl adventure in northern Minnesota.

Yep the bull was hit by car in Oregon....if I remember correctly..in the hills above Oak Ridge....same...its a monster....

That other pic is from a leupold trail camera near Coos Bay....
Old coal mining area with lots of tunnels left open...but access is very restricted because of swamps and topography....it was logged many years ago I believe by Louisiana Pacific..whom later changed their name to Georgia Pacific....trees were replanted so close to each other they couldn't grow....cant be a more perfect area for a critter like that to roam about unseen, unharassed...the picture was taken about 6 years ago....

Geo4061....I agree...on this site...with all these guys up and down mountains....somebody else has to have pictures...or at the least good stories of having seen the man of the woods....
I carry my phone everywhere out there...but a real photographer with pics would be more than awesome.....
I know of more stories from the coast...I grew up in an area adjacent to several points of interest....
While I was young my dad was driving log truck and had a black panther run across a hayfield, cross the gravel road right in front of him and run across another hayfield....all in the daylight...in Oregon..just a few miles from our house......sh.t happens

IMG952031_2.jpg not really an unusual photo but I haven't seen many like him. Just a pig that was out and about until the season started. Then he was just a picture of a buck I saw one time. Sorry about the quality. It was sent from old phone to new phone and lost some sharpness I guess.

Sevy...betcha he thinks he is safe...ha

Auodad...those bucks are really nice...the kudu still needs a couple years..... But that Axis is a freaking giant....where I grew up a guy started importing critters to his properties...he felt he needed to give life to animals he had killed all over the world....initially he brought in axis and auodads....they escaped from his fencing..all over the place...and the fallow soon followed....he kept taking people to court to because they were shooting "his" animals that weren't on his properties...he was winning...then the state started fining him for not getting his livestock back into his fenced properties...$10000 a month.......he soon said that they weren't his animals....lots of breeding...lots of axis and fallow but the auodad faded some...
And in another chunk of federal lands in Oregon with basically no access there is a huge herd of auodad growing........

Where in oregon do the auodad hang out? I would be interested in checking that out. That buck knew he was safe. Not quite 300 yards for probably 5 to 10 minutes. Then walked away over the hill. Terd was gone when the season started. Not a lot of bucks at the Steens so I wanted that one.

So you want my secret spot.....lol....
My brothers buddy sold his ranch that is adjacent to the land...just after the auodad started making their way to his property of 140 acres......bummer....
But they are around NE of Maupin....opposite the even bigger piece of property across the hwy that no one is allowed to hunt....not sure of the address....just knew how to drive there....but look for government landlocked....a huge ranch to the south may be the culprits that released them......I think I remember the ranch offering canned hunts....

That might be worth a drive sometime. I think Maupin is only a couple hours maybe. Great thread. Love seeing the pictures. Wish I took more. I will now for sure.
