What are you considering long range? If you are going to shoot past 350 yards you probably should look at the smokeless powder muzzleloader. I do not own one but they would have a little advantage in my opinion.
I do have an encore pro Hunter and i do know that shooting the black horn 209 powder and using the 285gr spitfire i can hold .5 groups at 100 yards. and i also know if you weigh out this powder it is very consistent. like less then 10 ES over a 5 shot string. so with that being said 300 yards is just about dialing it up and shooting it. however my bullet has a max range of 350 yards due to velocity and expansion. it will shoot farther but lethal killing power has a max range. So if you had a combo of smokeless and using a light long range bullet like from dead center. .375 caliber. ( which is to small to hunt deer with in Indiana) you could reach out pretty far.

Do you mean the one made by Lyman. I want a long range inline muzzleloader.
The Ultimate Muzzleloader does what it states. Unit 15 in NM is a primitive weapons only unit and we stritcly use the Ultimate with our clients. We had a female hunter this year kill her bull at 530 yards. That is the longest kill we have had so far. Before that the longest kill was around 450 yards. Our guides have killed over 20 bulls (maybe more) and this gun is amazing. There are a lot of skeptics out there, but the proof is in the pudding. They way it is built is quite unique as well.

I saw Mike Davidson from Gunwerks kill an antelope at 714 yards with one of their muzzleloaders on Long Range Pursuit last night. That's long range.
I saw that too, what a shot, that is a long range muzzle loader. 714...........gun)
I can't find that episode on their website.

All these comments are true for the UF Muzzleloader the UF Web site has numerous kill shots from 200 yds to 700 yds unreal !!
I have an Unfired (NIC) BP Xpress Hunter on a stainless Howa Action, custom barrel, laminated thumbhole stock in Ghost, 50 pc primed 45 Win Mag Brass that I need to sell due to health conditions and doctor bills. I will sell this rifle for $1800. In my opinion there is not a better long range muzzleloader available.
What loads and bullets for the UF Muzz are you guys using on these hunts to achieve that performance ?

If you are not restricted to blackpowder, go smokeless and use the 275-325gr Parker long range bullets. Sabotless in a .45, I believe guys have the 325gr up to 2600 fps.
I've used Ultimates for years and have owned several. Ive killed many(30-40) deer and antelope between 300 to 450 yds. My current load is the 275gr Fury bullet with 3 Triple7 magnum pellets. I've witnessed a 600yd shot on a deer with it, it's no different then having a single shot 30-06 in your hand, ballistically very similar and still requires plenty of range time to be able to perform such shots.
Never shoot smokeless in the Ultimates they do not recommend it, they were designed for black powder and blackpowder substitutes.
