Draw hunt?!
Never apply for them!
In the late 70's, they were having a feral hog hunt on the Engling WMA near Cayuga, TX.
I entered my name and three buddies on the 4 name entry form.
In February, a local TV station aired a piece on the hunt.
A game biologist said, "We were looking for 100 hunters. We had one hundred and four applicants!"*
CRAP! OUR CARD WAS THE ONLY ONE NOT DRAWN!
I haven't entered a draw hunt since!
As it turned out, a HUGE ice storm hit the area the weekend of the hunt!
The weather was cold, horrid and the hunt miserable and ineffective! LOL!
