Not in a rotary tumbler but in a vibratory tumbler I use a small amount of FLITZ Media Additive and it comes out very clean and bright.
Just be sure to use a small amount and put it in before you put cases in and let rum for at least 3 minutes to get it worked into to media.
As mentioned I have also used car polish as well.
I am not as concerned about getting the carbon out of the neck as I started using Imperial Dry Neck Lube I learned about on this forum and get good equal release of bullet.
This forum is a great place to learn things as there are so many that have "been there done that"!
