I'm trying to decide on one of these three scopes;

Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-12.5x42mm with green illuminated dot duplex,

Zeiss V4 4-16x44mm with a standard duplex and non-capped elevation turret,

Nightforce 3-10x42mm with illuminated Forceplex reticle.

All three have 30mm tubes and are of similar size, weight and magnification.

For up to 300yds deer/elk on a 280ai.

Input appreciated,
Thank you

Don't complicate it unnecessarily; at 300Y, any of them will work. Pick one and enjoy.

Agree any of those will work, I have owned all three although the Zeiss 4 I haven't. But have had four Zeiss scope and still have two but the glass on all my Zeiss is very good. The Nightforce and Trijicon are builded like tanks! Pick one and start your fun!!!

I've owned about every brand of scope there is and will not own any thing but nightforce after by brother dropped my rifle from a tree stand (20ish feet) and it hit a log on ground. Sent it to them and it was 100 % ok besides a ding on the elevation turret and the bell had a ding in it. They are tough and I tend to be rough on things.

I have had a nightforce shv 3-10 and I currently have a Ziess v4 on my 280ai, have not used the trijicon but out of the nightforce and the zeiss, I like the zeiss better. To my eyes glass is better on the zeiss and I prefer the exposed elevation turret on the zeiss, and I think it's probably lighter but not sure.

Try to get your hands on them and compare.

I'm pretty good at reading spec sheets, but they don't tell the whole story.

Of the 3, Zeiss has the edge optically.

SHV is the heaviest duty

Myself, I'd probably go Trijicon. I have an Accupoint 3-9x40 with green duplex.

Light, reliable and I love the tritium dot. 👍

I've owned both the Zeiss and currently own several NFs of various configurations, I've never owned a Trijicon. As others have mentioned, at 300 yds max distance, there is probably not a lot of difference in capability to handle the scope of work. I'm a Nightforce man all the way due to the fact that they are just no BS, TOUGH. They've proven themselves over and over again in that category. The Zeiss probably has a bit better glass. It doesn't sound like you will be dialing for distance so will not need the exposed Zeiss elevation turret & the NF 3-10 has a capped turret, go with your personal preference there. I will say that I much prefer the NF elevation turrets and zero stop to the Zeiss, but not a factor for you.

Either will serve you well, but I'd go NF for my money. Good luck!
