Super nice scenery. I'm from the states but my wife used to live in Auckland and still has a sister there. Been there quite a few times just never gone hunting yet!

In 2000 my better half and I went on a bike tour with the Colorado Mountain Club to Tasmania and the South Island of New Zealand. Magnificent country, but very rugged and steep! The rivers are crystal clear with lots of very tall waterfalls. We've always wanted to return to fish and hunt. At 77 now it's likely to never happen.
Helicoptered to the Phillip Joseph Glacier and did a hike. Beautiful! Jet boated a crazy rough river! Biked over the highest pass across the island…I was the only one to make all the way! Brutal!
I highly suggest if anyone is interested they go while they can!
