Badlands bullets are tipped with aluminum....
Would you say that's roughly three more inches of wind drift?Right to left. Should have clarified that
The yellow cross's are the centers of the groups. So it looks like 3.5-4"Would you say that's roughly three more inches of wind drift?
what is the minimum expansion velocity required for the CECurious question. Have you ever shot the two sxs on the same range day to see the diff in wind deflection?
That'd be too close to a cavity-back bullet.Hollow cup on the base, filled with oil
Who woulda thought "Just the Tip" could get things so crazy!
The only problem I see if some might have to jump to a lighter bullet weight if they are marginal on twist... That will pretty much negate the advantage the tip would produce. You will just be shooting a more expensive bullet.I see a good number of people pointing out that a high BC bullet isn't needed in most shots.
Totally true. I agree that most shooting opportunities are well within the range where a Hammer Hunter is still running hot.
Now can somebody please point out what DISADVANTAGES you face when using a higher BC bullet? Is there some reason to not want a tipped HH? I know I want it.
With a flatter trajectory. The only problem I see if some might have to jump to a lighter bullet weight if they are marginal on twist... That will pretty much negate the advantage the tip would produce. You will just be shooting a more expensive bullet.
not enough to write home about... most times it would be around an even trade off... Fix the issue with a fast twist pipe and this conversation didn't happen. Both 7mm's I've re-barreled were 8" twist. With a flatter trajectory.
Maybe I write home about more trivial things than you haha…not enough to write home about... most times it would be around an even trade off... Fix the issue with a fast twist pipe and this conversation didn't happen. Both 7mm's I've re-barreled were 8" twist.

I have a suggestion and what I'm recommending is an innocent one. How special would it be if we put on a shoot for everyone on this forum to gather and represent any and all bullet manufacturers using factory and custom rifles? We're all on the same team and I could only imagine the amount of knowledge that could be shared any lifelong friendships to be made. Just a thought and I'd be more than happy to help organize. Not me. I'm a multi
