Tipped Hammer Bullets?

I see a good number of people pointing out that a high BC bullet isn't needed in most shots.

Totally true. I agree that most shooting opportunities are well within the range where a Hammer Hunter is still running hot.

Now can somebody please point out what DISADVANTAGES you face when using a higher BC bullet? Is there some reason to not want a tipped HH? I know I want it.

In the world of longrange hunting I think BC is very important! I hunt country that is vertical steep with many cross canyon winds that are very tricky to judge. I never want to have to shoot an animal twice if I can help it and the wind for me is hardest to judge where the animal stands. I suppose if I hunted flat ground with consistent wind direction it wouldn't matter as much. At 900 yards in my rifle the 143 HH had a corrected G7 BC of .230, at 900 in my rifle with the 145 CE Lazer the corrected G7 BC is .288, both are very near 3600 fps mv. If you put those numbers in your ballistic pipe and smoke it you will see the difference. cheers, Jason
Curious question. Have you ever shot the two sxs on the same range day to see the diff in wind deflection?

You and many others. Still under testing as far as I know. Has anyone actually confirmed it's tipped? I would think it will be to get a higher BC. But I haven't heard/read anywhere that it will be tipped. Hammer bullets and the testers have done a good job of keeping us in suspense.
Agreed, but good things come to those who wait. Stay the course Steve and Brian and don't let the cat out of the bag until you are confident that it'll perform to your standards.

Hmmm, what color or what material should the tips be? I am thinking "real gold" to become the "gold standard? 😂 Let's get some really cool colors instead of white, red 🤮. Flo orange? Flo chartreuse? Flo pink?

Now if the tip heats up and sheds the color as part of the trail like tracer 🤩!!
Why wait? I tipped my own. Wonder what the BC will be on these?

Hello Steve, I have not shot the two bullets on the same range day. I have shot both bullets multiple times on the same range though. Crunch the numbers if you would like the difference is enough for me. Also, I was able to push the 145 Lazer faster than the hammer with the same powder. Here is the funny thing, Hammers shot a better group at both 100 and 200 yards by just a tad, and the Lazers shot better groups at 500, 725 and 900 than the hammers. Both are very fast and accurate! Like I said in a my earlier post, If you make a tipped Hammer Hunter I will certainly try them out. Cheers, Jason

I just wanna know the time frame on the tipped bullet coming on the market.
Certain the guys at Hammer will let us know - LRH will hear it soon as they're available. And they'll be on the web site.

As a now retired software development project mgr, my answer was usually 'RSN.' Real Soon Now, aka when it's done & tested to the company's satisfaction. Not what folks wanted to hear but most understood, & it causes less misery than missing an announced date.

I guess I'm on hold buying any of the current offerings along with having a turret made up for a new 28 Nosler 'til there's more info. on the higher BC possible Hammers.
