Timney Trigger Install Remington 700

Get a Calvin Elite Timney or the new HIT so you can safely get the weight down. I set mine at 1 to 1.25#. The standard Rem triggers they say go down to 1.5# But I could almost never get them there. and always on the edge of slipping safety. The Calvin elite makes it easy. However, the new HIT trigger looks awesome and I might go with that as a solid, durable trigger. I have not tried it but they say its adjustable from 2# down to 8 oz. I find that 1.25 # is about perfect, but that is MY feel on a trigger and I can tell the difference between 1.25 and 1#.

If you are careful, you can drive the one pin that also holds the bolt release spring just short of all the way out, leaving it to hold the spring in place. Flip the action over and drive the other pin all the way out, releasing the factory trigger group.
