Tikka - To Shoot or not to Shoot

Having 3 Tikka rifles(6.5Sweede lite, 30-06 altrlite and 338Fed lite) , two suppressors (Gemtec and Bannish 30) and shooting an 8 twist 22-250 for over 25years=
Shoot it!
Been my experience that it will shoot but may be a little fussy about what it likes.
The heavy long barrel will make the choice of suppressor easy as most will gettrdone.
The heavy bullets turn the 22.250 into a whole different animal.....specially past 400 yards where it really begins to shine!

Take it to the smith cut thread and rechamber to 22 creed.

I would shoot it. My buddy got his fiance a Tikka 223 that was supposed to be an 8 twist (stamped on the barrel). It shot light bullets well but as soon as he went heavy they were keyholing. He measured the twist and if I'm remembering correctly it came out to. 10 or 12 twist. I would shoot it just to be sure it will stabilize heavys.

If you are wanting a 22-250 to shoot heavy bullets, I would set it up, With mounts and scope, Do any trigger work or change. Take to range and shoot some heavier bullets before having the barrel threaded. If it won't shoot heavy bullets, May Be Time, To rethink the project, If the Tikka shoots light bullets, Good Luck in the project.
