Tikka T3x…..223 or 22-250?

223, 223ai, 22-250 14 twist, 22-250 8 twist, Swift 12 twist......
Depends on what I'm trying to do that day. The smaller ones keep the noise down a little depending on where I'm hunting. Never have any trouble feeding any of them brass, just bought 100 pieces of new blue bag 22-250 this past week from a guy on here. You have to keep your eyes open and buy it when it's available, otherwise sit home on the computer and complain about how bad things are 🤣

Since the question was 223 or 22-250. I love my 22-250's, never owned a 223, never wanted one. It's just one of those cartridges that never interested me. Both of my 250's are 12 twist and shoot 55gr Sierra Gamekings very well. I've killed groundhogs out to 470 yards with them. If I were looking to shoot 70+ grain bullets I'd build a 243.

IMO, barrels are consumables, if you shoot one out, screw another on.
There's no reason to step up to 243 to shoot heavier pills.

As someone who's shot thousands of groundhogs on bean fields with every caliber from 17's to 338's I can tell you for a fact that there's a good difference in the splatter effect each time you step up in caliber. Usually even if you use a lighter bullet in that caliber that's not as explosive.
