Thoughts on Proof Research barrels

I have one on a 6.5 Creedmoor and a .300 win mag. Both guns shoot amazing. I am a big believer in them.

Does any one know if you can thread the carbon pre-fits for a muzzle brake?

I would think so . For what they cost they should come threaded with a thread protector!

I have helped find loads for 5 proof barrels that were in Proof Research customs. The all rifles were very accurate. They also cleaned up quickly.

Only issue is the diameter of those barrels. If you were going to rebarrel an existing rifle in most cases the stock would have to be replaced.

Funny, was asking the guy at my local gun store if they ever carried anything with carbon fiber barrels, such as Proof Research. He said no, that they didn't carry them because most people don't like the fact that they only last a few years, or only 1500 to 2000 rounds. I realized, as I so often do at that store, that their lack of knowledge is still abundantly clear. They have plenty of generic savages though.......
