The latest greatest Federal Cartridge

Yeah - I dunno on reloading or if that is important to the masses. It would be a deal killer for me. Hornady set the bar on the approach of creedmorizing and releasing every possible variant of a caliber/cartridge use and see which stick. They apparently are ****ed Winchester snuck in with the 6.8W. I am guessing Federal will do this with the new "peak alloy" case and see which stick. In years past a 30 cal would have been the first choice but high BC / 7prc craze probably directed to 7mm. A couple of years ago they would probably have started with 6.5 BC

I think you may be right but the 7mm market is saturated yet the market still favors only a few cartridges, and for good reasons, with the trendoids who already know everything, exploring a few more before they falter.

The rifle is more important than the cartridge but it takes a long time to know the fact of that statement.

I think one of the mindsets that you are going to be bucking is as follows. I have a 7mm Remington Magnum that sits in my gun cabinet. It's just as effective and efficient now as it was 35 years ago when I first got it. Nothing's changed. I see no reason to change to the new and improved. Doesn't matter if the new is better. I already have a tool that works.

Mark,
I too am a fan of my 7RMs. I have many and they work great. However contrary to this is the new age idea to run shorter barrels suppressed. While not having to give up the performance of neutering your 7RM to 7-08 status. If this isnt of interest to you than its not worthy of your attention. It does nothing for your interests. This is a non-point to me as well because I don't like supressors and am not a follower of super short barrels. Yet, I'm still able to acknowledge what this cartridge is proposed to do for the population of guys that it will benefit.

You described a hunters attitude perfectly......"a tool that works".

There is a huge difference between a hunter and a hobbyist shooter.

I agree. It's not that I'm not open-minded and don't see the benefit.
