As some of you know I built a 378 Weatherby Improved for my son Zayne. We called it the 375 Zayne. This gun was truly a success and the best part is he had no idea I was doing this for him.
Now it's my daughters turn. I'm going to build her a 340 Weatherby Improved. In essence it will be a smaller Zayne but just as potent. I'm just finishing the reamer drawing now and Dave Manson will build the reamer.
I wanted a way to honor all my children and give them something that means so much more than money. 1 of 1 rifles that bear thier names seem to be a perfect combination.
The same build team as the 375 Zayne will do thier parts in the 340 Zaylea Ann.

Lilja straight taper. Exactly the same barrel Zayne's rifle has. The hardest and longest part is the stock. I do that myself with the help of Joel Russo. Rifle should weigh between 10-14 lbs when finished.

Sounds interesting Z.. I'm needing another heirloom rifle for my boys. I've already got a win m95 high grade in 405 for them to fight over, but I need one more.

I wanted to give a update on progress made of my daughters build. The 340 Zaylea Ann is a 340 Weatherby Improved. ALOT IMPROVED. The idea was to build wildcat cartridges so that I can name them after my kids but also to use belted magnums so if they never reload again, at least they can buy a box of Weatherby factory ammo and use their gun. First was the 375 Zayne. The 340 Zaylea Ann is almost completed. The 26.5 tube and muzzle brake are jeweled. Stainless Mark V blueprinted and squared. I have almost finished the stock (you get most of the credit Joel Russo) and sending it to JE Custom for final assessmbly.
