I like the CB mount, it doesn't add anything to the length and so far the can stays tight.

I haven't had any issues with the TBAC mounts or the can's coming loose. I do like the idea of Area 419 if you plan to use your can on multiple platforms. that's what I would have done if it was available several years ago

Any argument against a "direct mount"?

If all your rifles have the same muzzle threading, a direct mount is all you need. The direct mount is the same can with a CB attached to it internally. At $125/each, CB's aren't exactly cheap so there's no reason to get one for each rifle if they all have the same muzzle threading. My $0.02 anyway.
