Supertrickler warm up

Good afternoon.
The Supertrickler, when starting up, has a 30 minute warm-up count down. This is easily bypassed. Does anyone know whether or not this warm-up is critical or not?

Throw a few charges durning the pre warm cycle,and save them.
Recheck them after the warm up cycle is complete.
