The stocks are a laminate wood, but a little different than standard colored laminates. The plys are criss crossed 90 degrees. This makes them stronger in the wrist than a standard lam. with the grain all going one direction. These thing were started with Neal Cooper looking for a stronger material for handgun stocks, I crossed it over into rifle stocks. They are very stiff rugged stocks.

Don't mean to hyjack Nates thread, but if you are handy you can finish them yourself these are fully inletted, drilled out for pillars so that work is out of the way, If you can bed a gun I'm sure you can slap some paint on it and run.
