I've spent a good part of my life operating cranes including boom trucks and in places where I was picking over the edge of docks. Picking angle is the key and straight sideways with the boom flat is the worst possible, hopefully no one was hurt or worse.
I had an Insurance person tell me the story on this one. It was OShays Crab House on the pier. The owner gave each bigger tow truck FIVE FREE Pints and an extra two pints to the next larger tow if they could lift it out.
You see these types of accidents=although third world countries. There are hundreds of UTube of stupid stuff.
