I just bought a new Tikka with a factory brake. I want to use the factory brake.

What is the proper way to install it? Loctite? Other? What torque? How to torque?

I use Loctite 8008 copper based anti-seize lubricant on the threads when attaching the brake to the barrel. I make sure it is tight, but I don't torque it to any specifications.

For protection from galling, corrosion, and seizing due to weathering or chemicals. I use anti-seize on all threads mated with similar or dissimilar material. I use the highest temp rating, but that's just me.

Yes, my brake is carbon steel and my barrel is stainless. Don't want to booger up the threads on the barrel.

although any copper based anti seize will work, I've used the loctite material which is good for 2400 degrees

I use blue loc-tite and have never had one move in use, and I have never had one gall or corrode in the threads.
