SIG Kilo 2400 with Applied Ballistics!!

SHOT Show is local to Vegas and I've been there the last two days looking at all the cool stuff.

High on my list was stopping by the Sig Sauer booth and trying to speak to someone regarding the 2400. The booth was packed but not related to the 2400. In fact, I had to look around and ask just find one on display.

There it was, sitting on the nondescript display shelf with all the other RFs, no signage and nothing drawing attention to this new release. I asked a few folks in the booth who I could talk to about it and no one seemed to know exactly who that would be.

Since I already own one it wasn't a big deal and frankly looking at their giant multi-million dollar booth and all the products there and people to look at them, I can see why the new RF that is of significant interest to us but just a small speck in their universe.

Just spent the weekend with my just received 2400. Mine is used with an IPhone(v6) As with all the reports thus far, no question, the appearance, packaging, instructions, etc., are top notch. My first order of the day was to compare the drops to porifles loaded in my Gunwerks G7, loading the same ballistic data into the 2400. Used exclusively for hunting out to 1200 yards, the G7 has accounted for dozens of deer, antelope and coyotes with absolute precision between 600 and 1200 yards. A side by side comparison of the MOA drops of the two rangefinders on dull brown colored telephone pole sections(my RF test area), produced the following with my go to 6.5x284, 142JLK@2975FPS, .323BC:

Gunwerks G7- 560Y/8.3MOA, 815Y/16.1MOA, 1116Y/27.7MOA
Sig 2400. - 561Y/8.3MOA, 815Y/16.1MOA, 1116Y/27.8MOA

Some notes and observations:
-I set the wind adjustment in the 2400 to "0" so that I had an equal comparison, without any correction for aerodynamic jump. Identicle values for velocity, G7BC, scope height, etc. were programmed in each unit.
-I had some initial problems syncing up with Bluetooth to program the unit, but this seemed to be caused by interferences from other devises. Once I isolated the interferences all went as claimed. BTW...the responsiveness from the Sig Optics support team is nothing short of exceptional!!!
-both units gave accurate ranges and the identical drops when programmed. This was my #1 criteria. Any of the historical IOS bugs in the AB app appears to have been corrected in the 2400's software.
-the small beam size(1.3Mil circle), while advantageous, for precision ranging, like my Terrapin, requires a very steady support and is aided by using the scanning mode. The small size of the 2400 does work against you if a tripod isn't used. Comparing the larger beam of the G7(1.5x3Mil rectangle), is easier to steady on target and will deliver an accurate range as fast or in some situations faster when used without tripod if the Tru-Targeting capability is understood and used. . IMO, personal preference and experience plays a big role here.
-the auto brightness ranging circle of the 2400 works superbly and is a much better design then the reticle on the G7. No wash out in low light.
-overall, the appeal of the Sig2400 for me is the ability to consolidate both my LRH and ELR shooting capabilities into one system. Currently, I have been using the G7 for hunting, and my Terrapin/Kestral/BC for my more technical long range shooting beyond 1200 yards. My Terrapin/etc is too slow and cumbersome for my hunting needs. The advanced ballistic capability of the 2400 seems to have everything needed for ELR while still being effective for my style of hunting. I still have some more work to do, but so far the 2400 looks like I will be able to achieve this. Nice product!

Good job, Greyfox. I also had mine out for preliminary testing and was very impressed with the ranging ability and speed. The only con I noticed was in the tripod adapter. I was trying to range a cow, but the wind was howling. I grabbed a heavy tripod to steady things up, but the adapter wouldn't fit on the 2400. Way too tight. I have several of the very similar adapters made by LongRifles and they fit snugly on my other RFs. The Kilo adapter wouldn't fit my unit even with a lot of force and wiggle. Finally braced the unit on top of tripod and got a instant and repeatable range of 1843 yds. It was a big cow on a wheat field. No reading with Kilo 2000 or Leica 1600. Laser and small o reticle are spot on.

I haven't added my profiles yet, but your tests speak very well for consistent drops for this solver. Thanks to you and all the guys, who have shared their knowledge and experience with the Kilo 2400 AB on this thread.

Wondering if someone can help me out?
In preparation of my receiving the 2400, I have been working with the Applied Ballistics Mobile App on my IPhone. I have been using Shooter for several years without a hitch.
I enter all the required info for the rifle and a load on AB and will get comparable results to Shooter after compensating for aerodynamic jump which is not included in Shooter. Within a day or so I input the identicle conditions and get erroneous results. Sometimes all "0"'s, other times lower drop values. If I then start from scratch again inputting the same information for my rifle and load, I will then get good information. The cycle then repeats a day or so later with the same erroneous results.
Two questions:
-Does anyone know what's going on?
-Will this happen with the Sig app when I sync up my 2400, using my IPhone(6)?

This is a bug in the app, we are working on getting a new version of the app out that fixes this. Unfortunately, we are going to be busy through to next month with a lot of things going on right now.

If you would have gone up on day one, it would have been different. They had kit out, and cards and everything. Unfortunately... Someone deiced to take home something that was not there's. An item went missing, so the gear packs were taken down. They had this display up at the front, they had it front and center in a nice display case to bring people in:

Here's a quick, simple, rock solid, mounting solution for my Kilo.
Mine wouldn't fit in the Kilo tripod mount either.
My Precision Rifle Solutions Bino mount is multi functional.

So, the only negatives I see right now are a small issue with iOS (which is one reason I prefer Android) and issues with the tripod mount adapter.

Obviously the iOS issue is easily solved but I'm not understanding the adapter issue. Why isn't it fitted correctly?

I honestly don't understand why Sig couldn't manage to incorporate a integral tripod mount on the unit and not have to use an adapter?
