Sierra matchking performance on game

I know of quite a few on here using match bullets for hunting including TMK's. I have 500 each in 7mm and 30 cal SMK's for long range practice. I'm also interested in results on game.
Appears your deer is decidely dead or nicely cooperating for a photo. Nice buck!
Keeping an open mind....
Definitely I would rather shoot a smk that I know I can confidently kill a deer out to 800 yd rather than an inaccurate "hunting" bullet.
 
Exactly to my point. A single case study is clearly the definitive word on the performance of a bullet not designed to harvest animals. People accept what they want to believe.
I don't feel that this is definitive but in this case the bullet performed as good as I could hope. I will continue testing this bullet at longer ranges on deer. I know many people that will say eldx bullets don't work good just like people say with the smk. I just wanted to show people my experience and give them some confidence if this is the only bullet they have access to like in my case.

This is the exit wound. Looks about as good as any hunting bullet exit wound. It's about 3" in diameter.
 
Only reason I don't use match bullets in hunting what I'm going to eat is the bullets weight retention. Match bullets break up into small pieces, pieces full of lead.

I prefer to use solid copper for hunting for meat preservation and not having the lead.

We have a member on the board who has done extensive bullet testing on game and speaks highly of the Sierra Tipped Match King. Specifically heavy for caliber, ie the 195 grain in .308.

I suspect this bullet in 7MM gave you a similar terminal performance. Looks about perfect to me and it sounds like the performance of the bullet may have compensated for a slightly rear shot.
