Show Me Some PROOF

I seriously doubts it's eirher the Beanland or the proof barrel. Most of the time it's the shooter reading about some crazy group with unheard of speeds, and wanting his rifle to shoot the same. Try shooting some factory ammo. What caliber?

You didn't say what kind of accuracy he was getting, but I have 4 Proof Carbon barrels, and I don't have any complaints about accuracy (sub half MOA with any of them is quite normal after some load development). However, I will say that the absolute tightest groups I've shot have been from heavy steel Bartlein barrels. I BELIEVE this is just because heavier steel barrels mean heavier rifles (12-16 lbs) that in my case are more oriented to target shooting with light recoiling cartridges like 6.5x47, 6XC, 6.5 CM, Big heavy stocks, and top notch optics. Whereas, I put the Proof Carbon barrels on hunting rifles. These are still top notch rifles, but are built with heavier recoiling cartridges like the various short mags. They are also built to be sub 9 pounds, and generally have lower powered scopes on them. Be sure to factor this in when comparing accuracy. It's WAY easier to shoot a 15 lb. 6XC than it is an 8 lb. 300 Win Mag.

The three groups in the pics were shot at 1000 yds with my 7 saum with 26" light sendero Proof carbon barrel. These weren't "cherry picked" as I shot cold bore plus 2 shots first thing in the morning on 3 consecutive days. Though there wasn't much wind (2-3mph) on any of those days.

Rifle is a CORE Solutions, Lone Peak TI action, Proof 22" 1-8, Trigger Tech Trigger, Manners EH-1. Still having trouble finalizing load. Mt Hammer 124gr got here today. I expect everything to me .5moa. The builder shot 140 ELDM factories and got .29 with them. more pics, need suggestions too:

The first 3 shots out of barrel number #1 went in the same home. The next 30-40 were load development and also shot .4". Then out of nowhere it went to crap. 2" groups and up. Zero patterns.

Barrel #2 was tested by Jon. Shot superb. Round 2 with load development went very simlar but the thing went south 20 rounds in. Best we could do was 1.5" groups with a load that posted .3" the day before.

Proof didn't hesitate one single second on the first barrel. They agreed that he in fact had a bad barrel. So they drop shipped a 2nd one to Jon and paid for the smithing.

Caliber is 6.5x47
It's not the shooter.
It's not the smith.
It's not the optic.
It's not the stock/bedding etc.
It's not the reloading procedures.

Very nice rifle sir. Your grouping looks similar to what he is seeing but better!

6.5x47L. He posted this with my 22 Dasher. It is not the shooter. I shot the 6.5 as well. Identical results. We can also rule out his loading procedures. He has another 6.5x47L and 22x47L built by Jon using same powder and they shoot lights out

I'm just really excited that there is a 6.5 creedmor that doesn't shoot .25" or less at 1000 yards.

Have you checked reamer specs against loaded neck diameter? This can screw things yo.
